Face Data Usage
1. What Face Data Does the App Collect?
The app collects and processes face data to facilitate authentication through face recognition for attendance purposes. Initially, during user registration, the app captures a face photo, which is securely stored on the server as a reference image for future comparisons.
For check-in and check-out attendance, the app captures a live photo of the user. This live photo is compared with the stored reference image. If the photos match, the user is authenticated for check-in. If there is no match, the live photo is stored for further authentication.
The stored reference photo is strictly used for comparison and not shared or utilized for any other purpose. No raw face data, biometric templates, or additional personally identifiable information (PII) is retained beyond the necessary data for this functionality. All operations are performed in real time, ensuring secure and exclusive use of the data for authentication.
2. Will the Face Data Be Shared?
No, the face data is not shared with any third parties, ensuring complete privacy and security for users. The app does not transmit raw face data, biometric templates, or personally identifiable information (PII) to external entities.
All face data processing is performed locally on the user's device during the authentication process. This means that when a user checks in or checks out, the live photo captured for face recognition is directly compared with the stored reference photo without involving external servers or third-party systems.
The app adheres to strict data protection policies to ensure that user data is securely handled. The stored reference photo remains on the app's secured server solely for authentication purposes, with no sharing or unauthorized access allowed. This approach guarantees that all operations related to face data are secure, private, and confined to the intended functionality of the app.
3. How Long is the Data Retained?
Face data is processed securely in real time, with no retention beyond what is necessary for authentication.
1. Real-Time Data Handling:
- For check-in or check-out, the app captures a live photo, compares it with the stored reference photo, and completes the authentication process instantly.
- The live photo is not saved on the device or server after the comparison is complete.
2. Stored Reference Photo:
- A single reference photo, captured during user registration, is securely stored on the server.
- This reference photo is used exclusively for authentication during future attendance activities, such as check-ins and check-outs.
This approach ensures minimal data retention while providing a secure and efficient face recognition process.
